one of the major general differences between criminal and civil procedures is;
for criminal, you have the right to remain silent.
note: hire a lawyer. as anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. =)

for civil, if you remain silent, it means you agree with what the plaintiff had claim against you. and you have to pay damages.
